2010 Agent and Broker Training User Manual

2010 Certification

• Geisinger is acting as a Pilot for the new CMS-Sponsored Certification.
• There are two steps to becoming Certified to Sell Geisinger Medicare Advantage products.
  • Complete the CMS-Sponsored Certification for Compliance
  • Complete the Geisinger Product Training Module.
    • Gorman Training (2010 Gold Product Training only).
      • You need to complete this training in order to receive commissions on GHP Gold 2010 enrollments, in addition to CMS training below. 
      •  Click for Gorman Training.
        • Please click on this form and complete.  It is required to send this form as well as your other certifications.
        •  Submit a copy of this certification along with any others you receive for completing training to Ashleyr@ritterim.com

CMS-Sponsored Compliance Certification

IMPORTANT... If you get an error message, it may be due to your security settings.

TO FIX THE ERROR...In Internet Explorer, select tools, then internet options.  In the Internet Options window, click the advanced tab and scroll down to the security section.  Select the boxes for SSL 2.0, SSL 3.0 and TLS 1.0.

• Step 1:  Register for the Website
  • Here is the link to the CMS Registration page.
    • Complete the form.  NIPR stands for National Insurance Producer Registry (we call it NPN, for National Producer Number).  You can find your NPN by clicking here. BE SURE to put in Geisinger Health Plan as your Plan Organization and Hit Submit.  WRITE DOWN THE ID AND PASSWORD YOUR CREATED, YOU WILL NEED IT!!

• Step 2:  Log into the Training/Testing Site
  • Here is a link to the Training/Testing site.
  • You will get an auto generated e-mail from CMS with a Link to the Training (this should be same link as above).
  • Log in using the ID and Password you created in step 1 above.
  • Please note that you MUST write your certificate number provided to you at the bottom of your CMS training page.
  • DO NOT close the Certification page down without writing your Certification score down.You will need to implement that number to your certificate. It is not already on it. Print it, and manually write it on the certificate.
  • Also if you are writing any Aetna products, they require your CMS score. (Take a look at Aetna's Certification page for details).
