Important 2009 Change
- In addition to the enrollment form, Geisinger is requiring a copy of the Sales Appointment Confirmation Form. If you do not complete and submit this form along with the enrollment form, the application will be marked incomplete and commission will not be paid!
Commissions
-
You may call Geisinger at (866) 488-6653 8 AM to 5 PM Monday - Friday. to see when/if Ritter Insurance Marketing was paid.
-
Geisinger cuts one check for commissions which is paid to Ritter Insurance Marketing. Ritter Insurance Marketing pays all commissions on a monthly basis (around the first of the month) for Geisinger and all other companies who do not offer "direct pay" contracts (there are many).
-
However, since business is submitted directly to Geisinger, we are not aware of your business until Geisinger notifies and pays us. Thus, we may not have the information you are looking for and will need to contact Geisinger to get a status.
-
Depending on when you submit your business, you should be paid in approximately 6 weeks after submitting the application (s).
-
You can call our office at 800-769-1847 and talk to the agent services department (Tish is the manager).
How Often Will I be Paid?
- Geisinger pays commissions directly to Ritter Insurance Marketing. They do not have a system in place to pay agents directly (although we would welcome it!).
- Ritter Insurance Marketing is paid on a monthly basis. Geisinger prepares their commission run on the 15th of the month and we generally get the statement a week to 10 days later. We will do our best to get commission payments out by the first week of the following month.
- Depending on when you submit our business, you should be paid approximately within 6 weeks after submitting the application (s).
Chargebacks
- On Geisinger's Medicare Advantage and Part D products, all commissions are advance for the first year. (See "How often do I get paid? for details on the timing of payments.)
- If your client disenrolls from the plan for any reason (death included) in the first 90 days, this is a rapid disenrollment. You will be charged back 100% of the commission (this is CMS requirement, by the way, not just Geisinger's rule). If the policy is in force for 91+ days, the first year commission is Fully Earned and you will not be charged back if the person disenrolls after 90 days.
Internal Replacement (Former Geisinger Policyholders)
- If you write a new Geisinger Gold Plan on an existing Geisinger member (Gold or other product), the sale is NON COMMISSIONABLE.
- If you write a Geisinger Gold plan on a Medicare Beneficiary who has had Geisinger in the past 12 months, the sale is also NON COMMISSIONALBLE. (We are working to change this, but this is the rule as it exists today.)
