This is for the CMS Pilot Certification

• Step One.  Register for Aetna training as you normally would.
• Step Two.  Send an email to BrokerService-MedicareTeam@aetna,com with "CMS Training" in the subject line
  • First and last name
  • National Producer Number (NPN)
  • CMS training certificate number
  • Date training was completed
  • Final passing score
• Step Three.  You will receive a confirmation email (should be within 48 hours).
• Step Four.  IMPORTANT:  You still must complete the product training module.

2010 Certification

NEW and EXISTING Brokers need to be Recertified by 10/26/2009 to get paid on January 1, 2010 business.

If you want to sell Aetna Medicare products for 2010:

• Click here to sign into the Aetna Learning Center to complete your 2010 Medicare Training
• The Registration Code for Ritter Insurance Marketing is FMORI0997.  That's "Fred", "Marsha", "Orange", "Ralph", "Igloo", "ZERO", "NINE", "NINE", "SEVEN"!
• You must Complete both AHIP training AND Aetna Product Training (See Training Guide for Details).
  • If you have completed the AHIP Training with another carrier, you will NOT be required to pay another fee.
  • Regardless, you MUST register so that Aetna has a record of your AHIP training complete AND you MUST complete product specific training as well.

• The following data is required in order to update your file on Aetna's training site:
• First and Last Name
• National Producer Number (NPN)
• CMS training certificate number
• Date training was completed
• Final passing score
• DO NOT close out CMS' training of completion without writing your certificate number and score.
• Fax that information over to the ATTN: Broker Service Team (1-860-975-9697).

Existing Producers:

• Please double check to ensure that all of you State Appointments are ACTIVE!  (you can check this with the National Broker Service Team (number above).

Producers who are NEW to Aetna:

Once you have completed your training, please complete these steps:

• Download pre-filled appointment paperwork from the Ritter Insurance Website (Click here, you must be "logged in").
• Fax the completed paperwork to our toll free fax line (this is on the first page of the form), along with all required

Cost and Reimbursement

• The Subsidized cost of AHIP training with Aetna is $100.  If you do not pass the AHIP training in 3 attempts, you will be charged another $100 and you will need to complete the modules again.
• You can qualify for a $100 reimbursement by selling 5 or more Medicare Advantage Prescription Drug Plans (MAPD) with an effective date from 1/1/10 to 4/1/10, inclusive (During the 2010 Annual Election and Open Enrollment Periods)
  • Prescription drug (PDP) plans do not count toward reimbursement, nor do plans sold during special enrollment periods or initial enrollment periods.     
  • Reimbursement is targeted for completion by the end of 2nd quarter 2010 up to $100 per producer.
  • You must have registered and paid for the AHIP training through the Aetna Learning Center.
  • If you completed CMS you must fax a copy of your certificate to 860-975-1838.  You will still need to register only on the AHIP site and it will unlock the Aetna Product portion of the certification site.
